Ice Cream for Dreams
In Connecticut, Abdul Muhammed loads up his big blue truck with ice cream and sets out upon one of his many cool treks – giving away free ice cream to children if they answer one question: “What’s your dream?”
He is not a professional ice cream man, and he doesn’t make a penny off the sweet treat. Abdul drives his truck all over Connecticut. A little kid will run up to the truck and say, “I want to help other people.” That is the type of currency that will get that child a free ice cream. It is the currency that is responsible for handing out over 10,000 ice cream sandwiches a year.
“A doctor,” “a lawyer,” or just “to work hard” are among the dreams many of these children have. Abdul says, “By asking them, and showing them what type of dreams they can have – it inspires them to do wonderful and amazing things in their lives. I want them to see there is so much more they can have in this, to dream big.”
One boy told Abdul his dream was to drive an ice cream truck just like he does.
Keep dreaming everyone
