Random Acts, An Amazing Match, and A Message from the Past
People pushing a stuck bus out of the snow, a man on a bulldozer rescuing a person from the second floor of their home, a dog rescued from the bitter cold, and a man pushing a stuck car out of the snow…
Just 4 examples of #beingbetterhumans during the frigid temps and snow storms on the east coast of the US this week.
Celebrate the goodness of others ❤ it’s not unusual… we just need to hear more about it rather than bad news all the time.
Here’s a cool story of #beingbetterhumans
A man went to Disneyland with his family and wore this t-shirt. Someone snapped a pic of him and posted it on their social media. It went viral.
Someone saw the viral image, called the number, and was a match! The surgery is scheduled soon. ❤
Two Fema workers doing beach clean up after Superstorm Sandy in 2012 found a message in a bottle buried in debris.
The message read: “Be excellent to yourself, Dude,” and it included a phone number. The men called and Mimi Fery answered.
Mimi’s daughter Sidonie had tossed the bottle into the water 10 years earlier. The note was a line from the movie Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Unfortunately, Sidonie died in an accident two years before the bottle was discovered, at the tender age of 18.
Upon learning of the note found in the bottle, her mother said with tears, “My daughter always appears when I need her.” She added that Sidonie’s death didn’t destroy hope and didn’t destroy memories. ❤
I find it very beautiful that the men took the time to call the number on the message.
